Your next customer may never click.
The sales conversation can end before we know it’s started.
A conversion report can tell us plenty about the customers who reached us. It tells us much less about the ones who never considered us.
That gap matters when people ask an AI assistant to compare suppliers or recommend a service. A business can disappear from the shortlist before its website gets a visit or its sales team gets a chance.
An industry measurement paper this week connects that problem with the evidence brands leave across the web. Its authors are careful about the distinction: the wider commercial effect they describe hasn’t been quantified. Source
That’s a useful starting point for a test.
I’d choose a small set of genuine customer questions and check the answers across several services. Does the business appear? Are the descriptions accurate? What evidence supports the recommendation? Keep the questions and dates consistent enough to see what changes.
The work that follows might be quite ordinary. Correct an outdated product page. Explain a confusing service. Make useful customer evidence easier to find. Give someone responsibility for resolving contradictory information.
Appearing in an answer still doesn’t prove a sale, and a new visibility score deserves the same scrutiny as any other marketing metric.
But we should understand whether customers can find a credible reason to consider us.
The sales conversation can end before we know it’s started.

What changes after the training?
Training becomes useful when people have the workflows, incentives and support to put what they learn into practice.
Get a heads up when there is new writing here.
I publish irregularly. The Friday Frame ships most weeks. The longer essays land when they are ready. Drop your email and you will get a note when something new goes up, or when an existing post gets a meaningful rewrite. Nothing else.
